Ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra and ex-premier Samak Sundaravej will not phone-in to speak to supporters of United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) when they join a mass rally on Saturday evening, UDD core leader Jatuporn Prompan said Saturday.
According to Mr Jatuporn, music will be played at Sanam Luang, where the red-shirt demonstrators will gather, at 3pm. An hour and a half later, UDD core leaders will get on stage to speak to the supporters, centring the criticism on the government.
At 9pm, the group will march to the Government House but will not enter the compound as the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) supporters have done, he said.
He also told the government not to worry about the rally and not to pressure the police to take decisive measures against the red-shirt supporters, claiming that police on duty are on their side.
Thirty-five companies of the police would be deployed at the anti-government rally to ensure safety
